Assuming all goes OK this time, it will be a very happy development for the former pop star, who failed to conceive with her ex-husband Andy Wilner despite four attempts at IVF treatment. She subsequently adopted believing she would never be able to have her own children.

A spokesman said this: "She's delighted by this news. She had given up hope of ever having a child of her own and it was a surprise to find she was expecting".

In case you wondered, Simon Cowell has been informed. Presumably that's added to most reports on this story because of Sinatta's long professional relationship with the Syco man, and her appearances on 'X-Factor' as part of his team of experts.
