He's got a best of compilation coming out, he's rejoined Take That for a new album and tour, what more could we want from the man? How about a new book filled with pictures of him. Oh, okay, if we must.
Entitled 'You Know Me', the 288 page book features 250 photos of the pop star, along with 38 pages of words written with the help of "close and personal friend" Chris Heath, who also worked with Williams on his 2004 official biography, 'Feel'.
In a video message posted on his official website, Williams said: "We got thousands of images of me, and I sat with Chris Heath once again, we had a recorder recording my words and we went through each image and I spoke my words that are in my head onto this tape. He took the tape, took my musings and my observations and my memories and added his own inevitable twist on top of them, which quite frankly are better than my musings and more intelligent and articulate than I could possibly offer up. Therefore it's not a bad book! Pictures of me... actually, it's a very good book!"
Due for release on 20 Sep, 'You Know Me' will be available exclusively through Tesco, with a limited edition deluxe version being made available through the singer's website later in the year.

It seems that pictures are the new words. Following in the recent footsteps of Jimmy Page, Justin Bieber and Robbie Williams, AC/DC have announced that they will publish a big book featuring pictures of themselves this year.
'AC/DC: High Voltage Rock N Roll - The Ultimate Illustrated History' will be published by Voyager Press on 15 Oct and spans the band's entire history, right back to their early gigs in Australia, with over 400 photographs, posters, backstage passes and other such visual treats. There's also an afterword from Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott. Yes! This book has EVERYTHING!
The written portions of the book were overseen by journalist Phil Sutcliffe.

Jimmy Page is to publish a photo biography next month, filled with over 650 snaps selected and captioned by the Led Zep guitarist himself. Page has also signed 2500 copies of the book, which is why he didn't write more in the actual book itself. That alone knackered his guitar-strumming hand right out.
The book is due to be published by Genesis on 27 Sep.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has written a novel, a humorous and dark story based on the seven deadly sins.
Entitled 'Seven', it follows two homicide detectives, the soon to retire William Somerset and new-on-the-team David Mills, as the track a serial killer who is murdering people in manners relating to the deadly sin he claims they are guilty of. No, not really, I don't know what it's about.
Here's what Taylor says: "I just finished writing it, and it's being edited right now. We're hoping to get it out by the spring of next year. It's about the seven deadly sins and my take on them and how I don't think they're sins at all. They're human characteristics. They're just human flaws and things that we all experience. I'm telling stories from my past and balancing humour with serious, dark stuff. I'm really excited about it".

Ricky Martin's autobiography, 'Me', will hit stores on 2 Nov, it has been announced. As previously reported, the singer announced that he was writing the book in March, at the same time as confirming that he is gay.
In a statement, Martin said: "Writing this book allowed me to explore the different paths and experiences that have led me to be who I am today. I've had to tie up loose ends that I'd never attempted to tie up before, to work deeply into memories that were already erased from my mind".

Jay-Z will publish the autobiography which he previously blocked in November through Spiegel & Grau. It will be called 'Decoded'.
As previously reported, the book was written with journalist Dream Hampton four years ago, and combines a first person memoir with interviews with friends and family, documenting Jay-Z's early life up to the point at which he made his name as a rapper. However, once it was complete the rap man decided the book revealed too much about his childhood and his father, who left home when Jay-Z was eleven years old.
The rapper told Rolling Stone earlier this year: "It's too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed, so I was learning a lot of things I didn't know as a child. It's not anything I haven't said in the past, in songs. It's just more detailed... You can say exactly how everything went".
He added: "It was still wrong that [my father] left, but he did stick around at a time when it wasn't cool or popular. He married my mom at a time when guys were just leaving, and you'd never even meet your dad. So [writing the book] made me ease up a little bit in how I felt about him".
It's not clear if changes have been made to the book to placate the rapper, or if he's simply had a change of heart. I guess we'll find out once it's out.

Not content with having an autobiography and a biopic in production, you'll also be able to learn how Justin Bieber came to be through a forthcoming comic book version of his life. Entitled 'Fame: Justin Bieber', the comic will be available in the US from 22 Oct and cost $3.99. Speaking about her subject, the comic's writer Tara Broeckel Ooten told Comic Book Resources Bieber's fame reminded her "of the stories my mom tells about when she was young and Beatlemania invaded the United States".

Harper Collins has announced that it will publish an autobiography by pop star Justin Bieber in October. That's an autobiography by Justin Bieber, who is sixteen years old. An autobiography. Like a memoir. Of things he has done in his life. Justin Bieber. Who is sixteen. Bieber. An autobiography.
Clearly aware that, with the book already written, Bieber will presumably have done enough to fill another book with the same amount of information by this time next year, the publishing house has given the upcoming tome a title that suggests sequels: 'Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story'. To fill out the pages, it promises a whole load of never-before-seen photos.
Announcing the book, Bieber said: "Every day I wake up and count my blessings. My fans have played such a large part in all of this and they help me live my dreams every day. I'm excited to share just a little bit more of my world with them through this book. Between the behind-the-scenes pictures and the story I think this is going to be something they can all enjoy. This is just another way for me to say thank you to my fans".
President of Harper Collins's children's books division (because even they aren't going to treat it as a proper book) added: "Justin's adoring and devoted fan base that started on YouTube now follows him to packed concert halls around the world. He is a force in the music industry and we are incredibly excited to be publishing this photographic memoir of his amazing journey".

Nick Cave has revealed that his 2009 novel 'The Death Of Bunny Munro' is to be turned into a film. The story follows the final days of sex-obsessed travelling salesman Bunny Munro after the suicide of his wife. It's funnier than that description suggests (but also more disturbing).
According to Empire, Cave told the Dundee Literary Festival last month that Ray Winstone has been "dying" to play the lead character ever since he first introduced the actor to the project, before the book was even written. The whole venture actually began life as a screenplay you see, but Cave decided to write it as a novel after he failed to drum up any interest for the film version. He said recently: "[Winstone] really loved the script when we first handed it to him. He was really excited about it, and really distressed when it kinda tanked and never got made".
He added that he hoped that John Hillcoat would direct. Hillcoat directed Cave's last film, 'The Proposition', in which Winstone also starred.

So, on the anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson, a legal squabble and TMZ exclusive. That's apt, right?
A legal rep of the Michael Jackson estate has hit out at the previously reported Howard Mann, who has gone into business with the late king of pop's mother, accusing the Canadian businessman of potentially misleading the Jackson family matriarch, and potentially infringing copyrights or trademarks owned by the estate. Or something like that.
As previously reported, Mann has collaborated with Katherine Jackson on a new photo book called 'Never Can Say Goodbye', featuring words and pictures for Jacko's mother. Mann claims Mrs Jackson has received a record breaking advance from the publisher of the book, which is useful for her, he says, because she is yet to see any serious income from the Jacko estate, despite their various multi-million dollar deals they've done, because so many creditors and legal claimants have had to be dealt with first.
Mann also claims to be sitting on 273 previously unreleased Jacko recordings that he acquired when he bought the contents of a Jackson family lock up, sold by a storage company after Joe Jackson failed to keep up to date with payments. TMZ say he has suggested he and Katherine Jackson might release some of those recordings, without involving the estate. Most date from between Jacko's Motown and Epic record deals, so neither label would have a claim to them.
Commenting on Mann's projects with the Jackson matriarch, Jacko estate lawyer Howard Weitzman said this week that the Canadian "may be using his relationship with Mrs Jackson to infringe upon Michael Jackson's copyrights ... to the detriment of, among others, Michael's three kids. He has no right to exploit any estate assets and we will take whatever action is necessary to prevent him from unlawfully profiting". But Mann is not impressed with Weitzman's implied threats. He told TMZ yesterday: "The comments by the lawyers for the estate of Michael Jackson are designed to create fear and ambiguity and may impede our ability to maximize the profits that Vintage Pop [the publisher] and the beneficiaries of the estate are entitled to enjoy. These actions are torturous interference and will NOT be accepted and will result [in] litigation to recover the damages against our company".
So, one year on from his untimely death, Michael Jackson is still able to contribute to more than his fair share of lawsuits. Away from the legal squabbles, thousands of Jacko fans are expected to pay tribute to the late singer later today on the first anniversary of his passing.

Jay-Z has revealed that he's refused to allow an autobiography he wrote with journalist Dream Hampton four years ago to be published as he feels it reveals too much about his childhood and his father, who left home with Jay-Z was eleven years old.

Former Oasis drummer Tony McCarroll is planning to dish the dirt on Noel Gallagher in a new book, which he's subtly called 'Oasis: The Truth, The Noel Truth, Is Nothing Like The Truth'.
Given that he was only a member of the band between 1991 and 1995, it's difficult to see how much dirt he could actually have to dish, or why it's taken him so bloody long to write a book about it. Presumably it will contain a lot of detail on his 1999 lawsuit, in which he attempted to sue the band for £18 million, claiming he was owed royalties from all five of the albums the band were contracted to record for Creation, even though he only played on three of them. McCarroll eventually received an out-of-court settlement of £600,000.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? Sadly, we'll all have to wait another five months to read it. The book will be published by Blake Publishing on 4 Oct.

John Otway has announced a second book chronicling his rock n roll failures. His first, 'Cor Baby, That's Really Me' told the story of the time between his two hit singles (1977 to 2005), the second, 'I Did It Otway', recalls how his plans to charter a plane in order to undertake a world tour, taking 300 fans with him, went disastrously wrong.
The book will be published by KLG Press on 17 May.

If you'd rather read about someone who's had huge amounts of success, and who is only nineteen (personally I'd much rather read about John's failed ventures, but there you go), then perhaps you should wait until later this year and buy 'Teenage Millionaire', the Soulja Boy story.
The 'Crank That' star tells Billboard: "I made my first million dollars when I was sixteen years old. I came from a place where a lot of people don't make it out to see the type of things I've seen around the world and see the amount of money that I've obtained. I just wanna tell all the people how I did it".
He continues: "One of the chapters of my book is called 'Speaking It Into Existence'. It's something I've been doing my whole career. When you think or speak from the non-conscious it happens. When you weed out all the negative thoughts and focus on nothing but what you wanna have it's so easy to obtain it".
I wonder if he'll talk about how most millionaire are just very very very lucky?

Susan Boyle has struck a publishing deal with Transworld for her autobiography, which will be out in time for Christmas. It may or may not run as follows: "I was a miserable nobody, I went on telly, I became an overnight megastar, now I'm a miserable celebrity".
Boyle said in a statement: "When I strutted onto the stage for that audition, I was a scared wee lassie, still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked. I think I've grown up a lot in the last year, become more of a lady, and I'm not so frightened any more".
She continued: "I'm writing this book to try to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and I hope it will benefit other people. My story demonstrates that you shouldn't just look at the label, you should look at the whole person, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. I hope that telling it will show that dreams are not impossible, if you've got courage and a willingness to go on no matter what the circumstances".

I don't know about you, but not a day goes by when I don't wish I could have a hardback book full of old pictures of Cheryl Cole in my hands. Imagine how useful and interesting that would be. It would sit nicely on my bookshelf next to my book of old pictures of Leona Lewis and autobiographies by Gareth Gates and So Solid Crew's Asher D. So, the good news is that on 30 Sep, Cheryl will be publishing 'My World', which promises to be "an intimate glimpse behind the scenes of her busy and fascinating life".
Says Cheryl: "Sometimes I look at old pictures and I can't believe that was me. I think we all do that. I went through a phase of being a bit tomboyish when I loved trainers and Timberland boots and baggy trousers. I had pink streaks in my hair at one point, but I was experimenting and at the time I liked it. I can look at photos and straight away they'll bring back loads of memories. That's really why I wanted to do this book, so I could choose pictures that mean something to me and tell the stories that go with them".

Yeah, with a headline like that it's always going to be 50/50. Which Minogue will it be? Will it be Kylie? Or will it be Dannii? Which sister is currently hard at work writing down all the exciting and amazing things that have happened in her life? Which would you prefer? Would you prefer to hear about Kylie's rise from soap star to pop royalty. Or would you... oh, bollocks, I can't keep this up. It's Dannii, okay? Dannii Minogue is writing a book.
Having started out, like her sister, acting in Australian soaps as a child, Dannii also made a less successful go of being a pop singer and more recently worked as a judge on 'X-Factor' and 'Australia's Got Talent'. She's currently expecting her first child.
Minogue (Dannii), says: "'I feel as though a whole life chapter is closing, and a new exciting one is unfolding. It feels like the right time to put pen to paper to account my first 38 years. It's important to me that the book contains all the ups and downs of my life so far, with many stories untold".

Dizzee Rascal is planning an autobiography, which seems logical, him now being the grand old age of 24. As you might expect, Dizzee won't be doing a deal with one of the big publishing houses. Rather, the book will be co-published by his own Dirtee Skank business in association with rather cool Edinburgh-based indie publisher Canongate.

Alex James has announced that he is writing a second autobiography. The first volume, 'A Bit Of A Blur', published in 2007, chronicled his escapades as an international rock star (or whatever). This time around, he'll being revealing what it's like to make cheese in the countryside. Sounds riveting.
Speaking to The Mirror, James said: "I'm trying very hard to write a book - I'm just finishing it so I'm going into my bunker and emerge in the spring. It's like [an] 'A Year In Provence'-type thing - only cheesier".
Asked if he had any advice for anyone else who likes the idea of giving it up and moving to the country, he added: "If you're thinking about it, just do it - I love my life in the country. It's funny, I never want to leave now.I thought I was retiring, but I've never been so busy. It's very absorbing, living in the country, it has very different rhythms to city life which you sort of grow into. It is very different to the city but the more you stay here, the more it grows on you. It's subtle but it's powerful".

Former Guns N Roses type and more recent Velvet Revolver man Duff McKagan is in talks to write his autobiography, telling all about his time with Axl and the boys, so that should be fun.
McKagan has done quite a lot of writing of late having launched a second career as a journalist, writing a music column for SeattleWeekly.com and even a weekly finance piece for Playboy.com called Duffonomics.
